That’s a no go on a tomos, when second gear engages it try’s to pull on the crank outwards.

The new tomos are so bad they pull the entire bearing from the magneto side of the case. It does this weird thing where it can’t decided to shift into second and it destroys first gear ⚙️

I think you are missing the point. The plastic bearings/sanded down bearings would NEVER be used on a running motor. They are just a tool for figuring out how much you need to shim your crank bearings.

but on another note, I've never seen the a new tomos pull a bearing from the magneto side of the cases. I sold and have continued to service a fair amount of these bikes (15-20 regularly) and have never seen this. that being said, none of the new tomos' we sold had any modifications outside of exhaust pipes or gearing.

This is the last post because I actually think this plastic bearing shit is pretty cool and strange.

That guy was located in Ohio, I picked up two (a52 ) in My area with the same issue also. It’s not like it’s a one time thing or a theory. It only happens on the silver street mates lol 😂

Stock new tomos Cranks are junk also ,they look like a cheap Alibaba.com crap metal

Re: plastic bearings

if the french are doing it, you know its badass and chill.

I think maybe this weekend i'll mock up a bottom end and maybe even put it together with real bearings and all of that stuff. It'll give me a chance to do a lot of cool shit that i've been putting off...like trying a treats puch cdi on a tomos with the hall sensor removed and a parmakit box and fully shimming a crank and all that.

shit, I might even case match!
