Heinkel was founded by and named after Ernst Heinkel. Originally an aircraft manufacture they began to produce mopeds, scooters, bicycles and microcars after WW2.


The Heinkel Perle moped started official production in March 1955 and ran until December 1957 with a total production of around twenty seven thousand. The moped is unique for being mainly built from cast aluminum, enclosed chain case and interchangeable wheels.
